Jenn Tran (b. 1999) is an emerging moving image artist based in Naarm (Melbourne, Australia). In 2020, she graduated from a BFA in Animation at the Victorian College of the Arts. Jenn primarily practises in a formative nexus of experimental animation and documentary cine-essays, intertwining animated worlds and reflexive narratives. Her works have been screened at SEVENTH Gallery, Robin Boyd Foundation (DADo Film) and Sydney Film Festival. She is also a member of Artist Film Workshop- an analogue moving picture film lab based in Brunswick East, Melbourne.

Jenn arrived in Huế eager to learn more about the art of mother-of-pearl inlay and to connect with local artisans. This craft is familiar to both Vietnamese people and the overseas Vietnamese community. Fascinated by this technique and its cultural, social, and economic narratives, Jenn spent her residency at AirHue creating A Pearl Poem, a work inspired by the aesthetics of inlaid objects, using fabric and reflective vinyl as materials.
