Residency

Program

Launched in 2024, this program is designed to support Việt Nam-based Vietnamese artists, curators, researchers, cultural workers, and collectives, with a focus on emerging and mid-career practitioners. Given the even more limited resources available to this demographic, this program is designed to address that gap*.

We are building the framework of this program so that it could facilitate an intensive environment to realize the projects selected from our annual Open Call. Our team will work alongside the artist in terms of curation and production as they develop and refine their work, as well as adapt our approach to best suit the needs of each project in order to bring it to life.

Throughout the residency, we will facilitate the artist’s immersion, firstly, into our constellation of local art scenes, cultural spaces, craft workshops and villages, and secondly, to our connections beyond Huế when called for. This process is vitally important to ground a growing body of work and an ever expansive practice.

The works incubated and realized through the program will have the chance to be introduced to our audiences, both online and at in-person gatherings, through various forms of exchange, namely workshops, talks, studio openings, and exhibitions.

For reference, please take a look at the Program Overview and the profiles of the artists we have worked with.

*If you are non-Vietnamese or a Vietnamese based out of Việt Nam, we are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship at this stage of the program. However, we are here to assist if you wish to apply for funding to participate. Please redirect to our Self-Funded Residency Program for more information.
